We are now a part of a dangerous time, where the environment around us is acting in an unprecedented manner. Human activities have warmed the atmosphere, ocean, and land on a larger scale. Increased levels of greenhouse gases are the main reason for global warming.
Evidence found by scientific research shows that current earth warming is roughly ten times faster than the average rate of ice-age-recovery warming. Carbon dioxide generated from human actions is increasing more than 250 times faster. Humans have helped grow atmospheric CO2 concentration by 48% after the Industrial Revolution. This is indeed the “forcing” of climate change.
What is Greenhouse Effect
Human activities (mainly the burning of fossil fuels) have practically enhanced the concentration of greenhouse gases in Earth’s environment. The greenhouse effect occurs when the atmosphere blocks heat emitting from Earth toward space. Certain gases block heat from escaping. The consequences of global warming are irreversible and will worsen in the next decades.
